Sacraments of Service

Sacraments are . . .

Sacraments celebrate something, and that something, has to do with the love of God, experienced and related to one's own story. The sacraments are actions, not things. They are actions which the assembly performs, not "things" which we "receive." They are something we do rather than something that is done to us. All sacraments have their holy touchstones. When we put aside our heads and encounter sacraments through physical signs. we enter the world of mystical prayer, and God leads us on a sacred journey.

Today the Church celebrate seven sacraments (visible signs of invisible grace): Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation, Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick, Marriage and Holy Orders.
